Squarespace Klaviyo Integration

Klaviyo is worth connecting properly or not at all. A newsletter signup box is ten minutes of work. Abandoned cart and post-purchase flows need product, cart and order events reaching Klaviyo, and that is the part people underestimate.

In short

Signup capture is quick. Full store sync, the thing that makes flows actually work, is the real job and is scoped after we look at your store.

What connecting Klaviyo to Squarespace involves

  • Newsletter and footer signup forms writing into the right Klaviyo list with source tags attached, so you can tell a blog subscriber from a checkout subscriber.
  • For stores, the commerce events Klaviyo flows depend on: viewed product, added to cart, started checkout, placed order. Without these, an abandoned cart flow has nothing to trigger on.
  • Profile properties mapped so segmentation works later. Getting this wrong is cheap to fix on day one and expensive to fix after 5,000 subscribers.
  • Flow testing against a real order rather than a preview, because previews hide the failures that matter.

The part that usually goes wrong

Most Klaviyo setups we inherit capture email addresses and nothing else. The flows exist but never fire, because no commerce events are reaching Klaviyo. The account looks configured and produces no revenue. If you are paying for Klaviyo and your abandoned cart flow has never sent, this is almost always why.

What we get asked for

  • Newsletter signup with list segmentation
  • Abandoned cart flow wired to real cart events
  • Post-purchase and winback flows
  • Migrating from Mailchimp without losing segments

How it is built

There are four ways into Squarespace: native integrations where one exists, embed and code blocks, code injection, and an automation layer such as Zapier or Make. Choosing the right one is most of the job. We pick the route that needs the least maintenance rather than the one that is quickest to build, because you are the one who lives with it afterwards.

Integrations are written defensively, with feature detection rather than assumptions about Squarespace internals, and fallbacks that fail quietly rather than visibly. Everything is commented and handed over with a note on what it does and where it lives. If it breaks after a Squarespace update, our support service covers fixing it.

What it costs

Integration work is $100 an hour, scoped with a fixed estimate before we start. Most single-tool integrations land between one and six hours. If your setup turns out to need more than that, we tell you before doing the work rather than after. Read more about how we handle Squarespace integrations generally.

FAQ

Klaviyo and Squarespace questions

It can, but only if cart and checkout events are actually reaching Klaviyo. A signup form alone will not do it. We check what your store is currently sending before quoting, because the answer changes the size of the job considerably.

If you run a store and want behavioural flows, Klaviyo. If you send an occasional newsletter and want one less bill, Squarespace Email Campaigns is honestly fine. We will say so rather than sell you an integration you do not need.

Yes. The work is mostly in mapping your existing segments and tags onto Klaviyo profile properties so your lists mean the same thing after the move. The export and import itself is the easy part.
